ABOUT JIM
Jim was born and raised in Minnesota, graduating from Southwest Minnesota State University with a BA in Business Administration and Management. Looking to escape cold winters, he moved to Maui in 1975 and fell in love with the tropical climate and beauty of Hawaii.
Jim received his Hawaii real estate sales license in 1978, his Hawaii real estate brokers license in 1990, and has successfully brokered over 13,000 closed Hawaii real estate transactions. Committed to helping clients fulfill their dreams and goals, he attributes his success to providing professional service with integrity, while building long term relationships based on friendship and trust.
In late 2019, Jim was invited to consider joining the Keller Williams team by a friend, Bob Cartwright, whose highly successful Whalers Realty Inc. had merged with Keller Williams Realty Maui. Attracted to the Keller Williams service values, technology and team building spirit, as the world’s largest and fastest growing real estate company, Jim joined Keller Williams Realty Maui in February 2020.
Spiritually, Jim has faithfully attended Kumulani Chapel in Kapalua since 1981, serving as an elder and member of the board of directors, among many other ministries. He believes applying Biblical principles to his life gives him the wisdom and understanding to best serve his clients.
Jim is happily married to Athena Moberg, an author, advocate and founder of CPTSD Foundation, a nonprofit organization providing daily recovery support and trauma-informed care to thousands worldwide who are healing from abuse and violence. Jim and Athena enjoy living in Kapalua where Jim has served as a volunteer in the annual PGA Tournament of Champions golf events for the past 25 years.
